Company officials flew to Indianapolis Friday May 17th to watch the qualifying. Our group plans to return for the main event this coming weekend to cheer the car on.

Chesapeake is 'Doing it Big' in Eagle Ford Chesapeake has approximately 600 wells drilled in Eagle Ford thus far.The company has predicted that when all is said and done, they will have recovered approximately 570,000 barrels of oil equivalent FROM EACH WELL! This is really great news for anyone involved in the shale. After some tricky math, I've calculated that it comes out to approximately 342 MILLION BARRELS of oil equivalent. North Sea Technology in Houston Norwegian companies are bringing their innovations for deep-water technology, that will enhance oil recovery and emergency response, to the international market. Einer Gamman has been quoted saying, "In Norway, Houston is the place to be". Einer Gamman is a partner with Energy Ventures, a Norwegian-based venture capital firm focused on energy technology.

Recoverable Natural Gas is Up Twenty Six Percent The Potential Gas Committee has released a statement that the United States has 2.4 quadrillion cubic feet of natural gas that can be recovered by current drilling techniques. This number is up 26% compared to the assessment done in 2010. That is A LOT of natural gas. The committee is made up of representatives of representatives (say that 5 times fast!) from energy companies working in various natural gas basins.

According to the Associated Press, some of the nation's biggest oil and gas companies have agreed to voluntarily follow a new set of tough standards for fracking! It applies mainly to Northeast Pennsylvania and major expansion of drilling to likely to follow. Eagle Ford Shale Creates an Astounding Impact Over the last year, $61 billion dollars has resulted due to the Eagle Ford Shale. The shale has created over 100,000 jobs across 20 counties in South Texas. The University of Texas at San Antonio has an ongoing study that has shown a ballooning financial effect as the industry has grown.
