Chesapeake is 'Doing it Big' in Eagle Ford Chesapeake has approximately 600 wells drilled in Eagle Ford thus far.The company has predicted that when all is said and done, they will have recovered approximately 570,000 barrels of oil equivalent FROM EACH WELL! This is really great news for anyone involved in the shale.  After some tricky math, I've calculated that it comes out to approximately 342 MILLION BARRELS of oil equivalent.  Chesapeake is expecting to produce another million bar...

Einer Gamman has been quoted saying, "In Norway, Houston is the place to be". Einer Gamman is a partner with Energy Ventures, a Norwegian-based venture capital firm focused on energy technology.

Recoverable Natural Gas is Up Twenty Six Percent The Potential Gas Committee has released a statement that the United States has 2.4 quadrillion cubic feet of natural gas that can be recovered by current drilling techniques. This number is up 26% compared to the assessment done in 2010. That is A LOT of natural gas.  The committee is made up of representatives of representatives (say that 5 times fast!) from energy companies working in various natural gas basins.

The University of Texas at San Antonio has an ongoing study that has shown a ballooning financial effect as the industry has grown.
